Routed over relatively flat terrain, Deer Run's primary difficulty is its length (over 7000 yards from the tips). Course features include tree-lined fairways, smallish ground based pushed up undulating greens with limited protective bunkering, and water in play on 10 holes. Course conditioning and playability could be considerably improved with a few renovations, redesign/remodeling of a several holes, removal/pruning of overgrown trees, and better course maintenance and conditioning. Much potential for growth. Course is now operated by a new golf management company.

In the area and decided to jump off the highway (I-96) and play this flat but 6,800yd+ golf course. It looks like its been abandoned but for the large Clubhouse. In talking with the starter at Morrison Lake Golf Club (6 miles down the road) they didn't open the course this year and it future is unknown at this time.
